How Do You Install LED Interior Lights in a 500X (2015-2024)?
The 500X is easy to work on. Pop the overhead console trim with the plastic tool - the front dome/map assembly comes out as a unit. The bulbs are standard T10 wedges. Old ones pull out, new ones push in. If they do not light, flip them around.
Vanity mirror bulbs are the trickiest part - the lens on the 500X is thin plastic. Pry gently from one edge using the included tool. Once the lens is off, the bulb slides right out.
Owners on the forums recommend going with white or ice blue. The white matches the modern instrument cluster lighting perfectly. Ice blue adds character without looking aftermarket.
Fun tip from the forums: the trunk light replacement is the most satisfying one. You will actually see what is in your trunk for the first time.
