Upgrading your Fiat Punto's interior lighting is one of the quickest ways to modernize the cabin. The AutoKitShop 11-Piece Canbus LED Interior Light Bulb Kit covers the Punto, Grande Punto, Punto EVO, and Punto 2/3 (models 188 and 199) from 2000 through 2017.
What Is a Punto Interior LED Light Kit?
A Punto interior LED light kit is a set of direct-replacement bulbs that swap into the factory dome, map, reading, vanity, trunk, glove-box and footwell sockets without cutting or rewiring. (chassis codes P21W, BA15S, T10) AutoKitShop lists 37 Punto LED kits covering model years 1992 to 2023. Kits for this model run from 2-piece to 11-piece sets. Each bulb is rated at 300 lumens and roughly 3x the brightness of the original incandescent lamp, at a fraction of the current draw, with a 50,000-hour service life. Kits are supplied as complete sets with the correct socket adapters, so nothing needs to be ordered separately. If a bulb does not light on first fit, rotate it 180 degrees, because LEDs are polarity sensitive. Colour options are white (6000K), ice blue, warm white (3000K) and purple.
What Is Included in the Punto LED Kit?
This 11-piece kit replaces every factory halogen bulb inside the car:
- 2 x Front Map/Reading Lights ??overhead console bulbs for the driver and passenger
- 2 x Sun Visor Vanity Lights ??often overlooked, these make a big difference at night
- 1 x Dome/Ceiling Light ??center overhead illumination
- 2 x Door Courtesy Lights ??footwell area lights that activate when doors open
- 2 x Rear Passenger Lights ??rear dome or reading positions
- 1 x Glove Box Light ??small bulb inside the passenger glove compartment
- 1 x Trunk/Luggage Light ??cargo area illumination
Will LED Bulbs Trigger a Warning Light on a Punto?
Fiat vehicles from the early 2000s onward use Canbus electrical systems that monitor bulb resistance. Standard LEDs often trigger a "bulb out" warning on the dashboard or cause flickering. The AutoKitShop kit includes built-in Canbus decoders in each bulb to prevent error codes, so you get clean, steady light without warning lights.
How Do You Install LED Interior Lights in a Punto?
- Check your bulb sizes first. The Punto 188 (2000-2005) uses different socket styles than the Grande Punto (2006-2010) and Punto EVO (2010-2013). This kit is designed to cover all variations.
- Use a plastic pry tool. Lens covers on the Punto clip in. A flat blade screwdriver wrapped in tape works too, but a trim removal tool costs almost nothing and won't scratch the plastic.
- Polarity matters. LEDs are polarity-sensitive. If a bulb doesn't light up, flip it 180 degrees and try again. The Canbus decoders handle the rest.
- Test before reassembly. Turn the lights on before clipping everything back to confirm each bulb works.
Which Colour Temperature Should You Choose?
Available in cool white (6000K), ice blue, and purple. White gives the most natural upgrade for daily driving. Ice blue adds contrast against warm interior plastics. Purple works well in builds with accent lighting.
Does It Fit Your Punto?
This kit fits the following Fiat Punto generations:
- Punto 188 (Mk2/Mk2b) ??2000 to 2005
- Grande Punto 199 ??2006 to 2010
- Punto EVO ??2010 to 2013
- Punto 3 (Mk3) ??2013 to 2017
Upgrading to LED interior lighting improves visibility, reduces battery drain (LEDs draw less power than halogens), and gives your Fiat Punto a more modern feel. The AutoKitShop 11-piece kit covers every interior bulb position in one package.
