What Is a Scirocco R 2009-2017 Interior LED Light Kit?
A Scirocco R 2009-2017 interior LED light kit is a set of direct-replacement bulbs that swap into the factory dome, map, reading, vanity, trunk, glove-box and footwell sockets without cutting or rewiring. (chassis codes W16W, T15, C11) AutoKitShop lists 20 Scirocco R 2009-2017 LED kits covering model years 2008 to 2016. Kits for this model run from 2-piece to 12-piece sets. Each bulb is rated at 300 lumens and roughly 3x the brightness of the original incandescent lamp, at a fraction of the current draw, with a 50,000-hour service life. Kits are supplied as complete sets with the correct socket adapters, so nothing needs to be ordered separately. If a bulb does not light on first fit, rotate it 180 degrees, because LEDs are polarity sensitive. Colour options are white (6000K), ice blue, warm white (3000K) and purple.
What Should You Know About Your Scirocco Deserves Better Than 2009?
The Volkswagen Scirocco R is a genuine driver's car — that 2.0L TSI, the sharp handling, the iconic wedge shape that still turns heads. But there's one thing VW definitely skimped on: interior lighting. Those stock T10 bulbs give off that yellowish “2009 called, they want their bulbs back” vibe. On the Scirocco forums and VW enthusiast groups, the LED interior swap is one of the most popular first mods. It's cheap, it's fast, and it transforms the cabin experience.
What Is Included in the Scirocco R 2009-2017 LED Kit?

What Should You Know About Performance That Transforms the Cabin?
At 300 lumens per bulb, 300% brighter than stock, the difference is immediate. The Scirocco's sporty interior finally gets the lighting it deserves. The footwell lights are a game-changer at night. The trunk light actually lets you see your gear. The map lights are bright enough to read by. 8W power draw saves your battery. 50,000-hour life means you'll never touch them again. The 6000K white option modernizes the entire cabin aesthetic.
How Do You Install LED Interior Lights in a Scirocco R 2009-2017?
The Scirocco uses standard VW lens covers that pry off with the included tool. Wedge sockets accept the T10 bulbs directly. If a bulb doesn't light, simply flip it 180°. For the festoon-style dome bulb, the metal clips may need a slight squeeze for a tight fit. The glove box light is a small wedge bulb accessed by popping the housing out. The footwell lights are under the dash — twist the socket, pull the old bulb, insert the new one. Total time: 25 minutes.
Will LED Bulbs Trigger a Warning Light on a Scirocco R 2009-2017?
Volkswagen's CANbus system is notoriously sensitive. Cheap LEDs cause flickering, ghosting (dim glow when off), and bulb-out warnings. The ZITWO kit features built-in CANbus error cancellation specifically designed for VW applications. No flicker, no ghosting, no warnings. Your Scirocco's BCM will think nothing changed — except the cabin will actually be bright.
Which Colour Temperature Should You Choose?
Pick from Purple, Warm White, Ice Blue, or White. White (6000K) gives that premium German car look. Ice Blue matches VW's factory ambient lighting perfectly. Warm White keeps it OEM+. Purple for shows. All covered by a 2-year warranty from AutoKitShop.
