If you drive a VW Volkswagen Virtus (2019-2023), you already know the factory cabin lighting leaves a lot to be desired. Those yellow incandescent bulbs were barely adequate when the car was new, and years of heat cycles have only dimmed them further. The VW Virtus forums has been buzzing about LED upgrades for years, and for good reason – swapping out those T10 bulbs is the single biggest interior improvement you can make for pocket change.
Over on the VW Virtus forums, a member posted before-and-after shots of his Virtus interior – the difference was ridiculous. The dome light that used to cast a gloomy orange glow was suddenly flooding the cabin with clean white light. Another guy mentioned his wife could finally see in the vanity mirror without squinting. The consensus across every thread: LEDs are the move.
What Is a Virtus 2019-2023 Interior LED Light Kit?
A Virtus 2019-2023 interior LED light kit is a set of direct-replacement bulbs that swap into the factory dome, map, reading, vanity, trunk, glove-box and footwell sockets without cutting or rewiring. AutoKitShop lists 3 Virtus 2019-2023 LED kits covering model years 2019. Kits for this model run from 10-piece to 10-piece sets. Each bulb is rated at 300 lumens and roughly 3x the brightness of the original incandescent lamp, at a fraction of the current draw, with a 50,000-hour service life. Kits are supplied as complete sets with the correct socket adapters, so nothing needs to be ordered separately. If a bulb does not light on first fit, rotate it 180 degrees, because LEDs are polarity sensitive. Colour options are white (6000K), ice blue, warm white (3000K) and purple.
What Is Included in the Virtus 2019-2023 LED Kit?
AutoKitShop sends a complete 10-piece interior LED kit specifically for the VW Volkswagen Virtus. You get:

- 2x Map/reading light bulbs
- 2x Trunk/cargo area bulbs
- 2x License plate bulbs

- 1x Vanity mirror or door light bulb
Each bulb uses high-flux 9-SMD chips rated at 300 lumens – that’s about 15x the output of the factory 15-20 lumen incandescents. The 6000K white gives a crisp daylight look, with optional Ice Blue, Warm White, or Purple if you want something different. Plug-and-play installation, T10 wedge base fits your existing sockets. 50,000-hour rated lifespan and 100% Canbus-compatible with no error codes.

How Do You Install LED Interior Lights in a Virtus 2019-2023?
Installing the AutoKitShop kit in the Virtus is genuinely a DIY job. Here’s what the VW Virtus forums recommends:
Dome light: the lens typically pries off with a flathead screwdriver – wrap it in electrical tape to avoid scratching the headliner. The T10 bulb pulls straight out and the LED pushes in. Polarity matters, so if it doesn’t light, flip it 180?. Trunk bulbs: same deal, T10 socket. License plate bulbs: twist the clear cover off, swap the bulb, reinstall.
A tip from the forums: test every single LED before you put the lenses back on. You don’t want to button everything up only to find one socket has a bad connection. And if you’re doing this on an older car, hit the sockets with contact cleaner first – years of heat can corrode the terminals.
What Should You Know About Verdict?
The VW Volkswagen Virtus is a great vehicle, but the interior lighting is a weak point that costs next to nothing to fix.
