Installation Information

1. Isolate the power source by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the engine cover and necessary peripheral components obstructing access to the timing chain cover assembly.

3. Drain engine oil as required by the procedure for the specific engine model.

4. Remove the timing chain cover utilizing appropriate tools to separate the cover from the engine block.

5. Release tension on the existing timing chain assembly components via the tensioner mechanism.

6. Systematically remove the old tensioner, sprockets, and chain.

7. Install new sprockets onto the crankshaft and camshafts ensuring correct alignment markings are matched according to engine service specifications.

8. Install the new timing chain, routing it over the sprockets.

9. Install the new hydraulic/spring-loaded tensioner, ensuring it is cocked or held as per manufacturer instructions before full engagement.

10. Install new guide rails in their designated positions.

11. Confirm the rotational synchronization of the crankshaft and camshafts by manually rotating the engine assembly two full revolutions before final torque procedures.

12. Reinstall the timing chain cover using new sealant or gasket material and torque fasteners to factory specifications.

13. Refill engine oil and reconnect the battery.

Important Notes

• - This kit is designed specifically for engines equipped with the B38A15 1.5L three-cylinder gasoline engine variant. Verify engine code prior to ordering.

• - Synchronization marks on sprockets and timing cover must align precisely with marks on the engine block and cylinder head during assembly. Incorrect alignment will cause engine damage.

• - Use of new strainers, bolts, and seals as supplied in the kit is mandatory for complete installation.
