Electric Tailgate Strut Replacement & Reset

*Note: If you use the Scan Tool to reset the power tailgate system, you will not need to manually follow these steps

Procedure All electric tailgates requiring strut replacement must undergo a one-time reset procedure.
Follow these steps
1. Battery Disconnection
Disconnect the vehide's negative battery temminal to ensure safety during the process.
2.Strut Replacement
With the tailgate fully open, remove the old strut(s) and install the new component(s)
3.Battery Reconnection & System Preparation
Reconnect the battery and activate the vehicle's pneumatic/service mode (refer to your owner's
manual for mode activation).
4. Manual Tailgate Closure
Gently lower the tailgate manually until it fully latches. Avoid slamming or forcing the closure.
5. Height Memory Calibration
Press the tailgate open switch. Once motion stops, press and hold the close switch for 3-5
seconds until:
A confimmation beep sounds, or The tail lights fash briefyRelease the switch to finalize the height memory setting.
6.Functional Verification
Test the tailgate's open/close operation via both the interior switch and key fob to confirm properfunctionality.
