Position the engine at Top Dead Center (TDC) for cylinder number one.
Remove the valve timing cover.
Align the camshaft with the timing marks on the camshaft sprocket.
Loosen the camshaft bolt securing the timing gear.
Remove the old timing gear.
Install the new camshaft timing gear onto the camshaft.
Tighten the camshaft bolt to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the valve timing cover.
- Ensure the engine is at TDC before proceeding with installation.
- Proper torque specification for the camshaft bolt is critical.
- Verify engine code compatibility (2AZFE, 1AZFE).
